What's It Worth? 1972 Ford Ranchero GT 429 ..Ford's Beautiful "Sharkmouth" Pickup

Considered by many post World War II Ford purist 1972 was one of the best in Ford’s history. Good looking with a muscular stance the Torino and Ranchero models were new from front to back. With it’s large mouth grille Car and Driver called it the “Sharkmouth” Ranchero. Only 1972 would have this stylish front end and grille.

You could order your 72 Car-Pick Up Ranchero from mild to wild. Engines ranged from the Econo-Thrift 250 cubic inch inline six up to a whopping 460 V8. Tranmisions were either a 4 speed manual or a 3 speed C4 Auto for the six cylinder and the smaal block V8′s. If you wanted the auto in your 429 or 460 V8 you got the beefy C6 auto. Interiors were upgraded to with a “Cockpit” type dash. Considered much more uptown than cross town rival Chevy El Camino.

For some odd reason as cool as Ranchero’s are they don’t hold as strong of a value as its rival El Camino. Like all 70′s Fords watch out for rust issues in the floors and bed.
