Despite the economic times or the price of fuel big American pickups sell. Sure small pickups from Toyota or Nissan have flooded our shores for decades but us made in the USA types love our full size “Pick-Em-Ups” Even though Ford has out sold rival Chevy in full size pickup sales since the start the Bowtie people have sold millions of trucks through the years.

With all those Heavy Chevy’s sold these trucks have a very loyal following. By the Mid 1980′s Chevy was on a roll with trucks sales. Model year 1985 Chevy upgraded the front of its popular C/K series with a quad headlight look and tall grill. If you went for the Silverado you got chrome bumpers, chrome grille, stainless wheel arch mouldings, chrome mirrors and an upgraded interiors with plush velour seats, carpet and wood dash trim.

The standard issue engine was the new for 1985 4.3 liter fuel injected V6. Most people went for the V8. Engines ranged from the tried and true 305 small block up to the thristy 350 V8 with a four barrel Rochester carb. The combo of versitility and comfort made the 1985 Chevy Silverado a huge seller. Our feature 1985 Chevrolet Silverado Two Wheel Drive Pickup is a completely restored rust free southern truck. As with most pickups south of the Mason Dixon Line it is a 2 wheel drive. It features the 6ft bed and the 305 V8 with A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes and Auto Trans.
